On Disappointment, Competition, and The Need to Look Inward
On Disappointment, Competition, and The Need to Look Inward Last weekend was an unusual one for me. One that made me feel the following as truths: Everyones doing everything better than me. Ive lost control over my life. Im overcommitted. Im ugly. I dont have anything figured out. As you can imagine, a spiral like this is unusual for me (I was and continue to be the women who gives boob cancer updates via ukulele), but I couldnt shake it. I was gonna write a post about it, mostly because Ive been hating the way I look lately and was too vain to get in front of the video camera, but I thought of Jess Constables new series and decided to Keep It Real and go for it anyways. So yes, my hair looks dirty (because it is I can only wash it once a week because of the trial Im doing to keep my hair during schmemo, and I also cant blow dry it or use product. It has started to fall out, but not so youd notice) and theres some smeared make-up under my eyes and I look as pale as a ghostbut I felt it was important to make this video regardless, because, well, its important to show the times the doubts/anxieties/Vampire Voices show up as much as it to show the wins/positive perspectives. Vanity be damned! Things I talk about here: my last I Quit My Day Job video Danielle LaPorte World Domination Summit Spoiler Alert: Yup, there are tears about halfway through here, but I promise you get an authentic smile from me by the end. Dont feel too sad for me, k? If you cant see the video/have trouble with the embed, you can watch the video on YouTube here. And dont forget to save 1-2p Eastern on Monday for a special, amazeballs, free goodie in honor of my 2nd entrepreneuriversary! Ill reveal all on Friday. Whadda tease I is!

6 Steps to Supercharge Your Resume in 2017
6 Steps to Supercharge Your Resume in 2017Whether you want to put out some new-job feelers in the new year or youre happy with your current job, you should take this fresh-start opportunity to overhaul your resume. But why, you ask? Its a good resume. It got you this far. And you could always update it if theres a specific need, right? googletag.cmd.push(function() googletag.display(div-gpt-ad-1467144145037-0) ) All valid points. But lets look at this as an improvement opportunity for yourself. Its like an annual eye exam. You might not think your vision has changed much, but your insurance requires an annual exam anyway to make sure your vision needs havent changed. Theres always room to make your life better and present yourself in a way that shows who you are at a given moment. Your work self is no different.1. Look at resume trends, especially in your industry. This can be just a basic search online. Is everyone including social media links on their resume behauptung days? Are in fographics to show revenue and statistics the way to go? It may be as basic as checking to binnensee whether particular sections or formatting are current. For example, conventional wisdom used to say that an objective statement was a part of a well-balanced resume. Now, that has fallen out of favor as employers look for more straightforward, cut-to-the-chase bullet points about results. Dont let your resume look like the professional equivalent of the Ford Edsel when everyone else is sending in a sleek hybrid.2. Include more iOS, less Apple II.If you have skills listed for software programs and applications that dont exist anymore or are no longer widely used, ditch em. Make sure your listed tech skills match the current crop of tools for your field.3. Do a self-audit of the past year.Does your resume offer your fruchtwein recent skills and accomplishments? This is a chance to review your year in general and have a list of your successes ready to go for annual review time. Even if y ou have no plans to leave your current job, having an updated list of this information can give you a leg up when it comes to negotiating for a bonus or a raise.4. Decide what doesnt need to be there anymore. If your resume still includes your job responsibilities from four jobs ago, its time to consign some of your old information to history. If those old jobs are super-relevant to a particular job youre seeking, keep some of the information but your resumes focus should definitely be your most recent job(s). In other words, its probably fine to let go of that student bro job you had back in college. Hiring managers want to see the professional you are now, not necessarily the one you were 10 years ago.5. Make sure everything is accurate.Every time you open your resume, be nitpicky. Is everything in it exactly as its supposed to be? Dates, numbers, skills? This goes hand-in-hand with proofreading to make sure your resume is also typo-free. To err is human, but to hand in a resume co ntaining easily preventable mistakes is embarrassing.6. Find a resume buddy.A second pair of eyes never, ever hurts. Have a friend or family member review your resume as neutrally as possible. They may see information that is incomplete or doesnt make sense, or notice typos your own eyes might have missed.Your resume is a snapshot of where you are in your career, so heres your chance to make sure its a great selfie as you gear up for the new year.

Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC) Codes -- Supply CommunityNavy Enlisted Classification (NEC) Codes Supply CommunityOver the years, ratings in the Navy, as well as other services, change as technology advances and the needs for the Navy changes with the times. The Store Keeper rating is such a rating. Keeping the inventory and maintaining a supply chain and storefront for the command operation and the crew needs is mora technical and requires a thorough understanding of computers, databases, and logistics. Thus, the Store Keeper rating (as well as the Postal Clerk) in the Navy have merged into the Logistics Specialist Rating. The job you do in the Navy is called your rating. You might have a few specialized skills also related to that rating. For example, if a Navy police officer (?MA Master at Arms) receives specialized training as a K-9 Dog Handler, he/she would be awarded NECMA-2005. From that point on, the sailor could be assigned to Navy law enforcement duties involving milit ary working dogs. The Navy Enlisted Classification (NEC) ordnungsprinzip supplements the enlistedrating structurein identifying personnel on active or inactive duty and billets in manpower authorizations. NEC codes identify a non-rating wide skill, knowledge, aptitude, or qualification that must be documented to identify both people and billets for management purposes. Navy Supply CommunityRatings Logistics Specialist (LS) - Store Keepers and Postal Clerks are nowLogistics Specialists. They receive basic training in supply and postal-related logistics functions. Logistics Specialists are responsible for providing exceptional customer service, operating financial accounting systems, managing inventories of repair parts and general supplies that support ships, squadrons and shore-based activities to include the Military Postal System. Advanced and technological training opportunities are available throughout your career development. There is no longer a Store Keeper or Postal Clerk Rating (SK / PC) as on 2009. Culinary Specialist (CS)- Culinary Specialists receive extensive training in culinary arts, hotel management and other areas within the hospitality industry. Culinary Specialists provide food service catering and hospitality services for Admirals, senior government executives, and within the White House Mess for the President of the United States. This rating is responsible for all aspects of the dining (shipboard mess decks) and shore duty living areas. Culinary Specialists work in the heart of the ship, and are vital in maintaining high crew morale on ships, construction battalions and every shore base. Ship Servicemen (SH) - Ships Serviceman are responsible for managing and operating all shipboard retail and service activities. These include the ships store, vending machines, coffee kiosks (CVN units only), barber shops and laundry operations. They play a large role in the morale of the ship.
